Description

In the last days of the Divine Dynasty, mortal men rebelled against their Pharaoh-God, Osiris. They fell to debauchery and blasphemy, proclaiming the old gods too weak to rule; thus Osiris created for them a new goddess, a goddess of perdition, to chastise them: Hathor.

Ani, an Egyptian scribe during the reign of Ramses II, visits his family in Abydos for the Festival of Lights – a sacred day devoted to Hathor, the benevolent goddess of love, wine and mirth.

However, a creeping sense of dread leaves Ani restless: ever since discovering an ancient scroll hidden away in the temple archives he came to realize the true nature of the goddess Hathor; and the signs of her second coming are ever present around him, no matter how hard he tries to deny them.

Even though surrounded by the cheer of the Festival of Lights, Ani is the only one who knows the truth of how it all started, long centuries ago:

In the last days of the divine dynasty mortal men rebelled against their Pharaoh-God, Osiris. They fell to debauchery and blasphemy, proclaiming the old gods too weak to rule; thus Osiris created for them a new goddess, a goddess of perdition to chastise them in torrents of blood: Hathor.
